Maryn Consulting, Inc. has demonstrated experienced leading the development and
enhancement of information management systems for local and State human service
agencies. Expertise includes the ability to standardize and automate individual
consumer information, as well as records management. Maryn has been involved in
information management system development, training and the provision of
technical assistance with numerous state, local and non-profit organizations of
varying size and mission since 2001.
Business Process Redesign
Maryn provides business process redesign services to examine an existing
information management system, and work closely with information management
practitioners to facilitate a revised process that more efficiently meets the
needs of the client and the client’s customers. This may or may not involve the
development of an accompanying automated system to support a redesigned
information management process (see below). In order to develop an efficient and
comprehensive information management system Maryn meets with practitioners,
management, service providers, human services customers, and the client’s
partners. A thorough understanding of each client’s environment is critical to
the development of a quality process. Existing business processes are
documented, examined and reviewed for alignment with agency goals and
objectives. Working closely with workgroups comprised of the client’s management
and identified practitioners, these processes are modified and streamlined as
required. Ultimately, the new system is described in detail in a final written
document.
Automated System Development
Maryn’s automated systems are designed to capture critical information specific
information through simplified methods to facilitate information sharing among
service providers while safeguarding individuals’ rights to privacy. These
systems also streamline internal office operations, relieving administrative
paperwork burdens. Maryn develops automated systems that allow for queries and
tabulating information for analysis, review and planning purposes. Work load
reporting, information activities, treatment provisions, service allotments and
certain costs are examples of data available for retrieval. Maryn incorporates
procedures and protocols to meet legal and legislative mandates, internal or
industry standards, and best practice models for service delivery in the design
of information management systems. Systems are user friendly and cost effective.
The systems allow staff to capture history, assessments, and progress by
maintaining a chronological flow of circumstances. File management is simplified
with “green” designs to capture only necessary materials in hard copy.
Training and Technical Assistance
Maryn Consulting supports information management system redesign, and the
implementation of automated systems, with training and technical assistance.
Maryn provides information management manuals, tool kits, training curriculum,
and training sessions, for its clients. Significant buy-in, technical
assistance, as well as training, is critical to successfully launch new
processes and systems. Maryn staff have a strong understanding of local and
state human services needs and the challenges of managing information while
serving customers. This understanding ensures that training and technical
assistance materials are useful and tailored to each specific client. |
