Project Overview:
Maryn conducted a study to examine the criminal histories
of first time DUI offenders. This study was aimed at the identification of
potential points of prevention and intervention. The study determined whether a
statistical correlation exists between prior criminal or traffic offenses and
first time DUI offenders. The study also examined potential early points of
prevention and intervention within criminal justice system or traffic safety
programs. Maryn worked closely with criminal justice agencies in multiple states
to identify and obtain large criminal history datasets. In order to complete
this study the Maryn team evaluated several million data records across
different States and identified and assessed program specific information
relevant to statistical analyses findings. The Maryn Team also examined various
programs and strategies associated with DUI prevention
